Pandamonium is an initiative by the WWF to draw attention to the issues of climate change. The inaugural commission’s brief was to reinvent the panda collection box. The piece consists of 100 pandas arranged in a grid. Sensors detect a person’s presence activating all but one of the pandas to face away from the viewer. The lone panda left looking was intended to instill a sense of awkwardness and confrontation. The piece was exhibited in the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2010 at the London Design Museum. The project was completed at Jason Bruges Studio.
