Pipette is a piece conceived as a surface evoking the colourful tapestry of Kings Cross. It is a tranquil, animated piece located in the new subway entrance tunnel under One St Pancras Square. The piece has been created with the commuter’s day-to-day experience in mind and to work in harmony with the existing lighting scheme as well as the architecture. The colours in Pipette are an unusual range, seldom seen in LED systems.
The artwork was developed in collaboration with Miriam Sleeman of The Cross Kings, the tunnel was designed by Allies & Morrison and the light wall was designed by Spiers and Major and built by The Light Lab.
The tunnel opened on the 30 June and will be used by pedestrians from Monday-Sunday, 7am until 8pm
